Goltra Preserve

Location: Brokaw and Baltimore Avenues – Westwood, Cincinnati, OH
Size: 67.94 acres
Acquired: 1986, 14 acres by fee simple gift from David and Phyllis Goltra.
Features: comprised of ridge tops and hillsides, with mature trees.  The preserve is located next to Cincinnati Park Board’s Brodbeck Nature Preserve.

In 2007, 36 adjacent acres were added to the Golta Preserve with a fee simple donaiton from J-II Homes.  This builder determined that it made more economic sense to donate the property than to spend hundreds of thousands of diollars engineering it for a large-scale residential development.

In 2016, The Hillside Trust purchased 17.94 acres adjacent to the Goltra Preserve utilizing Clean Ohio Fund money.

Message from the Director

From the time I was a young child, I have always enjoyed our hillsides. Whether it was feeling their imposing grandeur as they tower over the Ohio River and downtown basin, or taking in distant views from their commanding overlooks, I believe the hillsides are a dramatic part of our landscape. It is my sincere pleasure to serve an organization like The Hillside Trust that advocates the thoughtful use and preservation of this wonderful natural feature.
